How do I know what I need?

The easy way to rent your water heater.

At EnerCare Solutions, we offer a range of high-quality, energy-efficient water heaters to provide all the water you need.  Choosing the right water heater may seem overwhelming, but here are some tips to help you choose the right size.

Not sure where to start?

How much water your household uses depends on the size and habits of your family as well as how many and the type of hot-water-using fixtures you use. (Fixtures include everything from faucets to appliances, such as dishwashers). The bigger your family and more of these fixtures you have, the larger the water heater you’ll need. To get started, grab a pen and a scrap piece of paper to take notes.

Step 1: Count Your Fixtures

Count the number of hot-water fixtures you have in your home. Include the following things in your list: tubs/showers, bathroom faucets, kitchen faucets, dishwashers, washers, laundry tubs, hot tubs/Jacuzzis – and anything else that uses hot water. Make sure you add the fixtures in your basement suite, if you have one. And put an asterisk next to any “high-demand” appliances or fixtures, like a dishwasher, jetted or oversized tub or large-volume shower heads or body sprays.

Step 2: Consider Your Household

Consider your family and your lifestyle. How many people live in your home and what age are they? Is your family growing? Are you planning on having live-in guests (like in-laws or a nanny) stay with you for extended periods of time? If so, add them to the list. You’ll also want to investigate any physical height and width limitations for where your new heater will go. Finally, you may want to consider whether a tankless water heater is right for your family – they’re good for the environment and your budget!

Step 3: Find a Good Fit for You

Use the information you’ve recorded as a guide to finding the right sized water heater for you. Please note that the following information is a guide only. Some larger homes have unique water fixtures that demand a higher volume of hot water. (Note that 1 U.S. Gallon = 3.7854 litres = 0.8327 imperial gallons.)
